Where are all of my coffee addicts at? I know with some of you it takes real will-power to drive past that Starbucks sign without pulling over for that latte purchase. Ice’d coffee has now become a staple of many as well. Some drink it all day long, and some can’t fathom beginning their day without that hot cup of java to get those motors running. I grew up with my grandmother and I can’t recall one morning at home without the smell wafting through the air of her morning cup (or 2) of love to get her day rolling.

I thought I would share three great recipe’s to shake up that normal coffee cup for you that you can make at home for a fraction of the cost of what Starbucks charges. Make it for yourself or your friends and I would love your thoughts on how much you like it, or them if more than one appeals to you.

Banana Milk Coffee !!

Ingredients:

  • A good quality coffee – 6.7 fl oz. Fresh brewed (Java Momma is the best I’ve found anywhere. Lots of Organic and Fairtrade options to choose from that are oh so yummy)
  • Ripe bananas – 1
  • Milk – 8.4 fluid oz.
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon – 1 Tsp
  • A tall glass to pour it in

How to make:

  • First, make the banana milk by mashing up a very ripe banana in a bowl with 1 tbsp of sugar.
  • Add the banana to a saucepan and heat under low heat until the sugar has dissolved, gradually add in the milk followed by the cinnamon.
  • Pour the banana milk over the top of the fresh brewed hot coffee. (make sure your glass is thick enough it won’t break from the heat. Shouldn’t have to be said, but you never know).

Ingredients:

  • A good quality coffee – 6.7 fl oz. Fresh brewed (Java Momma is the best I’ve found anywhere. Lots of Organic and Fairtrade options to choose from that are oh so yummy)
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1/3 cup
  • Ice Cubes – 2 cups
  • Almond Extract – 1/4 Tsp
  • Vanilla Instant Breakfast drink mix – 1 packet

How to Make:

  • Add all ingredients to blender and blend
  • Pour over the ice

Note – If you have a strong blender like the Ninja, Nutra bullet pro, etc, you can blend all together with the ice and it makes more of a slushy type drink. This is the way I like it. =)
